Alexis Griffin, MS, RN, NYSAFE, FNP-BC, brings more than half a decade of experience in family and registered nursing to Prominis Medical Services, serving patients in the Prospect Heights and Bedford Stuyvesant locations.
Alexis began her professional education at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in international relations. As a student, Alexis made the dean’s list, and proudly held membership in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Golden Key Honor Society.
Following graduation, Alexis decided to pursue a career in nursing. She enrolled at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York. There, Alexis earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, made the dean’s list, and held membership in the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. After graduation, Alexis decided to continue her education and earned her Master of Science in nursing, also at Stony Brook University.
As a student, Alexis served in the telemetry and emergency department at Stony Brook University Medical Center. She assisted geriatric, hospice, cardiac, renal, and neurologic patients and educated men and women on managing illness and injury. Since 2013, Alexis has also served in the emergency department at NYU Langone Medical Center in Brooklyn.
Alexis is ANCC FNP-BC, TNCC, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certified. She also has an NYSAFE certification and holds membership in the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN).
During her career, Alexis has participated in medical and legal research. She’s experienced in the use of various software programs, including Epic, Vista, Cerner Powerchart™, and FirstNet®. Alexis uses this knowledge to act as an NYU Epic Superuser. Additionally, Alexis is a Stroke Champion and was recently nominated by her peers for the Nursing Leadership Awards.
